Republican voter registration is skyrocketing in Dare County.  Our local party has grown and become more active than ever.  It’s an exciting time to be a Republican in Dare County.

Here are the election facts and links you need as we head toward Election Day 2016.

VOTING

Early Voting Thursday, October 20 – November 5

Polls open on election day, Tuesday, November 8th, from 6:30am until 7:30pm.  You can find your polling place here or view all the Dare County polling locations here.  You can even view pictures of your polling place here.

 

VOTER REGISTRATION

To register to vote in a North Carolina county, a person must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be a resident of North Carolina.
  • Prior to voting, must be a resident of the county for at least 30 days prior to election day.
  • Must be at least 18 years old or will be 18 by the date of the next general election.
  • Must rescind any previous registration in another county or state.
  • If previously convicted of a felony, the person’s citizenship rights must be restored (must not be serving an active sentence, including probation or parole).

MILITARY AND OVERSEAS VOTING BY MAIL

The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act or “UOCAVA” requires states to allow certain voters who are absent from their county of residence to have special rights that provide an expedited means for them to register and vote by mail-in absentee ballot.
